During a backpacking trip in 1995 Ellen worked with a production company in Australia © Neil Cameron Productions. They specialise in colossal theatrical Fire Event; "The Wicker Man" and "Dantés Inferno" in 1995/6.

Ellen had a fantastic time assisting with design and build of stage set and props, realizing then that she would like a career in Design of some kind.

The stage props were made using bamboo for the frame which was then covered in grease proof paper, alu foil and pvu glue.

This combination of bamboo, foil and glue makes the prop relatively sturdy and suitably fire retardent for the performance.

The Boat: this took several weeks to build and was lit up from inside during the performance

All people taking part had to be covered in clay to reduce the risk of burns from sparks or getting too close to the fire.

After researching various different design fields Ellen decided to study Art & Design specialising in Graphics with Multi Media and graduated in 2000.

Since then Ellen has been running her very successful small business, developing design and technical skills and expanding a portfolio of clients which includes: WWF (World Wildlife Fund), Penny Kennedy, Intelligent Fluid Solutions and many more. Ellen has clients all over the UK and Europe.

Ellen teaches a 5 week HTML course for beginners through Perth College and it's outreach centres.

Beginners and Intermediate Classes "Build and Maintain your web site" run regularly at the moment and I plan to offer Advanced HTML course in the near future.

Ellen keeps up to date with skills using industry standard programme's: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign. Macromedia Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks & Freehand
